Mandate:
The Local Services Board is responsible for providing the services of Water, Sewage, Fire Protection, Garbage Collection, Street & Area Lighting, Recreation and Library Services. These services are provided on a pay for service system by means of applying user fees to some of those services, and through community fundraising events.

Gogama Heritage Museum

Mandate:
We manage the Gogama Heritage Museum for the benefit of our community and citizens.

The Gogama Heritage Museum opened its door on June 15th 2012 and will remain open every Saturday and Sunday from 1 PM to 4 PM until the Labour Day weekend. The museum is staffed by volunteers who preside over day to day operation while a board of directors manage the business aspect of the corporation. An official opening is planned for late summer or early fall of 2013 due to certain matters not yet brought to fruition.. If you plan on visiting Gogama please take time to visit our renovated museum which is housed in the old Hudson Bay Company store built in 1922. Special arrangements can be made for groups not able to visit on weekends. We gratefully accept donations and or loans of antiques and artifacts. Gogama Chamber of Commerce

Mandate:
The Chamber is devoted to benefit the social, civic, and economic welfare of the community and its area, with membership in the Chamber based on its criterion. From our long range planning, work has been completed or is being carried out on the following projects: a community War Memorial and Memorial Park Site, the installation of new highway signage; a town beautification program; a designated ambulance helicopter landing site, development of Waterfront Heritage Park, and the development of a Community Heritage Museum. The Chamber meets on a monthly basis from May through to November and tends to reserve the winter months as a planning period. The achievements of the Chamber in recent years have been a result of the active interest, and participation of the Chamber's Membership.

Gogama is responsible for linking our trails to Timmins & Shining Tree and making them as smooth as possible for tourists who like snowmobiling in our great wilderness. We are also responsible for Trail Permits which keep our club functioning. We look forward to another season and hope to have new trail members.

Ontario Metis and Aboriginal Association

Mandate:
Born as the Metis and Non-Status Indian Association (OMNSIA). Originally, the Association was formed to represent Metis and Non-Status, but in 1987, the organization expanded it's mandate to include all off-reserve Natives whether Metis, Status or Non-Status Indians. The Association was incorporated as a non-profit organization to represent the interest, and concerns of Ontario's Aboriginal people, in areas such as self government, land and resources, social services, housing and education.

Mandate:
Beginning in 1919, the Gogama Catholic Parish celebrated mass in private homes or in a billiard room until a store was bought in 1922 and converted into a chapel. This chapel was then partially destroyed by fire in 1947, at which time today's church was built.
